e-Jagriti is an initiative by the Government of India aimed at digitizing and networking Consumer Dispute Redressal Commissions across the country. It seeks to streamline the consumer grievance redressal process by enabling online complaint filing, tracking case status, and providing consumers with essential information about their rights and responsibilities.Under the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, quasi-judicial commissions have been established at three levels: the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC) at the district level, the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (SCDRC) at the state level, and the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) at the national level. These commissions ensure swift and effective resolution of consumer complaints.Additionally, the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, has launched a mobile application to provide consumers with easy access to information related to consumer rights and public distribution. This app helps users stay informed, and track their cases efficiently, thereby empowering consumers and promoting transparency in the redressal system.
