SmartSocks COMFORT is a distress management system designed to be used at home and in residential care settings. It couples physical and physiological sensing with artificial intelligence (AI) to detect feelings of emotional distress and/or temporary disturbances to wellbeing. Carers, friends or family members alerted on the SmartSocks app can provide timely support to alleviate distress and avoid escalation of behaviour to crisis.

This user trial is being carried out to inform the further development of SmartSocks, by gathering feedback from participants about their experience using the Sensors, Charger, Socks and application, referred to collectively as “the trial equipment”.
